Ingredients of Jalapeno Cheese Fingers

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeno peppers
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Jalapeno Cheese Fingers

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeno peppers, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Using your hands, shape the mixture into small logs or fingers, about 1 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Place the formed fingers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Set up a breading station by placing the flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in separate bowls. Dip each chilled cheese finger into the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally the panko breadcrumbs, making sure to coat them evenly.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded cheese fingers to the pan, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  5. Fry the cheese fingers for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the jalapeno cheese fingers hot, either on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
