Ingredients of Egg Manchurian

  • 6 boiled eggs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Spring onions, chopped for garnishing

How to Make Egg Manchurian

  1. Cut the boiled eggs into halves and keep them aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt and red chilli powder. Add water to make a smooth batter.
  3. Dip the egg halves in the batter and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown. Keep aside.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and add garlic and ginger. Fry for a minute until fragrant.
  5. Add onions and bell peppers and sauté for a few minutes until they turn soft.
  6. Mix soy sauce, vinegar, and tomato ketchup in a bowl and pour it over the vegetables. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add the fried eggs to the pan and mix well with the sauce.
  8. Cook for a minute or two until the sauce thickens and coats the eggs well.
  9. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
