Ingredients of Chilli Baby Corn

  • 200 grams of baby corn
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium-sized capsicum (bell pepper), finely chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of corn flour
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of red chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder

How to Make Chilli Baby Corn

  1. Wash the baby corn and cut them into small pieces.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add corn flour, all-purpose flour, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add water slowly to make a thick batter.
  4. Dip the baby corn pieces in the batter and deep fry them until golden brown. Drain on a kitchen paper towel to remove excess oil.
  5. In a separate pan, heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil.
  6. Add chopped garlic and green chillies. Fry for a few seconds.
  7. Add chopped onions and fry until they turn translucent.
  8. Add chopped bell pepper and fry for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a separate bowl.
  10. Add the sauce to the pan and cook for a minute.
  11. Add the fried baby corn to the pan and mix well.
  12. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
