Prep Time: 10 Min
For the dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 cup oil 1/2 cup water For the filling: 2 cups chopped spinach 1 cup crumbled paneer 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp minced ginger 1 tsp minced garlic 1 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp red chili powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp oil
Cook Time: 25 Min
Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and oil. Mix well.
Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover it and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Add minced ginger and garlic. Saute for a minute. 1. Add chopped spinach and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts.
Add crumbled paneer, garam masala, and red chili powder. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove the filling from the heat and let it cool.
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Take one ball and flatten it with your palms. Dust it with flour and roll it out into a small circle.
Place a spoonful of the paneer and spinach filling onto the center of the rolled-out dough circle.
Bring the edges of the circle together and pinch them to seal the filling inside. Shape it into a pouch by gathering the edges and twisting them together.
Repeat the same process with the remaining dough balls and filling.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the lifafas onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the lifafas turn golden brown.
Remove from the oven and serve hot with mint chutney or any sauce of your choice. Enjoy your homemade Palak Paneer Lifafa.
