Ingredients of Submarines and Mayo
- 1 submarine roll
- 3-4 slices of deli meat (such as ham, turkey, or roast beef)
- 1-2 slices of cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss)
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion (optional)
- Mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to Make Submarines and Mayo
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Slice the submarine roll lengthwise, but not all the way through.
- Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the roll.
- Layer the deli meat and cheese on top of one side of the roll.
- Add lettuce, tomato, and onion (if desired) on top of the meat and cheese.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Close the sandwich by placing the other half of the roll on top of the ingredients.
- Wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.
- Remove from the oven and unwrap the sandwich.
- Cut into halves or thirds and serve hot.
