Ingredients of Sausage Wontons

  • 500 grams of ground pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 package (48 counts) of wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Sweet chili sauce, for serving

How to Make Sausage Wontons

  1. Mix the sausage, green onions, Parmesan cheese, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and egg in a large bowl until well combined.
  2. Lay a wonton wrapper on a flat surface and place a small spoonful of the sausage mixture in the centre of the wrapper.
  3. Brush the edges of the wrapper with water and fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle. Press the edges together to seal.
  4. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and sausage mixture.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  6. In batches, fry the wontons until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Serve hot with sweet chilli sauce for dipping.
