- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 cup of sliced green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to Make Hot And Sour Soup
- In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a boil.
- Add the sliced mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and diced tofu or cooked shredded chicken to the pot.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, soy sauce, chilli garlic sauce, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Add the mixture to the pot and stir until well combined.
- Reduce the heat to medium and let the soup simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Slowly pour in the beaten egg while stirring the soup.
- Add the sliced green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Note: You can adjust the amount of chilli garlic sauce according to your desired level of spiciness. You can also add other vegetables such as carrots, cabbage, or bean sprouts to the soup.
