Ingredients of Chinese Idli
- 8-10 idlis
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/2 cup finely chopped bell peppers (capsicum)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chilli sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- Spring onions for garnishing
How to Make Chinese Idli
- Cut the idlis into bite-sized chunks and set aside.
- Heat some oil in a pan and add the finely chopped onions. Sauté until they turn translucent.
- Add the finely chopped bell peppers and carrots and sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables are cooked but still crunchy.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Add the soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup and salt to the pan and mix well.
- Add the idli chunks to the pan and toss until they’re coated in the sauce and heated through.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
