Ingredients of Chicken Tikka Burger

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 cup plain yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices

For the mint and coriander chutney:

  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves
  • 2-3 green chillies, seeded and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Chicken Tikka Burger

  1. In a bowl, combine the yoghurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Cut the chicken breasts into equal-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. While the chicken is marinating, make the mint and coriander chutney. In a food processor, combine the mint, coriander, green chillies, garlic, lemon juice, and salt. Process until smooth.
  4. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off any excess. Grill the chicken until fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a chicken patty, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Spoon a generous amount of the mint and coriander chutney over the chicken patty. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve the burgers immediately, with additional chutney on the side if desired. Enjoy!
