Ingredients of Chicken Manchurian
- 500 grams of boneless chicken
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for deep-frying
For the sauce:
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp garlic, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger, chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 capsicum, chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp corn flour dissolved in 1/4 cup water
- Salt to taste
How to Make Chicken Manchurian
- Cut the chicken into small bite-sized pieces and marinate them with egg, corn flour, all-purpose flour, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and pepper. Mix well and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep-frying. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces and fry until golden brown and crispy. Drain and keep aside.
- In a separate pan, heat 2 tbsp oil and add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chillies. Saute for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onions and capsicum and saute until they turn translucent.
- Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce, vinegar, and salt. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the corn flour-water mixture and stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss until the chicken is coated well with the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
