Ingredients of Mushroom Manchurian
- 1 pound mushrooms, cleaned and chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste

For the sauce:
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 capsicum, chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1 teaspoon red chilli sauce
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped spring onions for garnish
How to Make Mushroom Manchurian
- In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Add a little water to make a thick batter. Dip the chopped mushrooms in the batter and deep fry until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- To make the sauce, heat the oil in a pan and add ginger and garlic. Saute for a minute.
- Add chopped onions, capsicum, and green chillies. Stir-fry for a minute or two.
- Add soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup, and red chilli sauce. Mix well and cook for a minute.
