Ingredients of Multigrain Cheela
- 1/2 cup wheat flour
- 1/4 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup semolina (sooji)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped mixed vegetables (such as onions, tomatoes, carrots, and bell peppers)
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 green chilli, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for cooking
How to Make Multigrain Cheela
- In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, gram flour, rice flour, semolina, salt, cumin seeds, coriander powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well.
- Add the chopped vegetables, ginger paste, green chilli, and enough water to make a thick batter. Mix well to combine.
- Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle over medium heat. Grease it lightly with oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the tawa and spread it into a thin round shape using the back of the ladle.
- Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the cheela over and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
- Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
